A Life-Long Methodist, Called into Ministry at Age 9

Raised in a military family and having lived abroad both as a child and as an adult, Heather brings resilience, adaptability, and a global perspective to her ministry.

Heather grew up in the Methodist Church. At age four, she recalls a defining moment of experiencing God's love so personally that she believed she was His absolute favorite. At age nine, she discerned a call into ministry—a calling that deepened over time and was nurtured during her college years through The Wesley Foundation, Methodist Campus Ministry.

She has been married for 31 years to her best friend, Rev. Jonathan Sims, a bi-vocational clergy member of the Global Methodist Church. Together they are the grateful parents of three adult sons: Noah (24), Daniel (22), and Michael (19).

Heather's life is marked by a love for adventure, spiritual renewal, the outdoors, the formative disciplines of solitude and silence, and the daily pursuit of Jesus.
